This is a great blog that often calls assumptions about parenting into question, discouraging the helicopter approach, etc. Many of the posts and comments lend insight to the tension between keeping your children safe and letting them make their own decisions. Recommended to any parent.

Really? I would have thought that far more than a few surly, antisocial snobs like myself would have deemed Facebook unworthy of their time. I wonder what the numbers really are.

I do know this. Every couple weeks, one of my friends contacts me via some other medium… so far I’ve gotten emails, postcards and a Tweet. Most are some version of:

Are you alive?

Listening to Jarrett, I’m amazed at what must possess him to emit such odd vocalizations. They are certainly some sort of dialect that has a direct relationship to the music. After awhile, I suspect an otherworldly force at play, so powerful as to produce pentacostal tongue speaking and inspired jazz pianistry at once, and from the same man. It inspires wonder.

That’s entertainment.

Whether it’s conversion disorder or something else, it’ll be interesting. Hopefully everyone ends up fine.
