New Favorite Feed Aggregator: Vienna
Thanks again to Tim: I’ve finally found a feed aggregator/reader that does all the things I want it to, including allowing me to delete feed items just like old emails. Vienna is Mac OSX only, but man, is it good. Embedded browser, one-click subscribing, folders and smart folders, OPML import/export, update scheduling, Atom/RSS support, favicon display… yum. Can you say “Open at Login”?
Strongly recommended!
Thunderbird, you lose, for now. I liked the idea of not having to run a separate app for feeds, but, Thunderbird just doesn’t cut it next to Vienna.
Incoming Feeds
You might notice a couple feeds from my other sites getting pulled into the Garden. New CozmiKast episodes and Mind Mined news items will be posted in this blog as they come out. Automagically.
It’s called “aggregation” and it’s a neat thing to be able to do. Tim mentioned the Magpie underpinnings that make this possible and I found this WordPress plugin to do the job.
Can’t seem to figure out how to make aggregated categories that don’t get posted on the homepage though…
